Tax Credits for Historic Rehabilitation
Most properties located within the Downtown Statesville Commercial District are eligible to receive a Tax Credit for Historic Rehabilitation. Under this program, owners of income producing properties that are considered contributing to the Commercial District may receive state and federal tax credits totaling 40% of the cost of the rehabilitation.
