Goals & Objectives

• Increase awareness of business and leisure opportunities in downtown to the community and its visitors.
  
  
• Continue with existing and develop new efforts to promote downtown in cooperation with the City, Statesville Convention and Visitors Bureau and other organizations.
  
  
• Continue to market and promote downtown as a viable place to locate while focusing on attracting new retail and service entities which will compliment the existing businesses.
  
  
• Continue to educate City leadership, merchants and the community of the importance of a healthy downtown and strive to prove value and benefit to the city and taxpayers within the downtown Municipal Service District.
  
  
• Identify new partnerships and avenues for developing funding resources, expanding volunteer base and promoting the mission of DSDC.
  
  
• In cooperation with the City, continue to develop downtown as an aesthetically pleasing place to live, work and conduct business with attention to the streetscape of the corridors, entrances and roads within the downtown district.
