Don't Miss the April 11 Downtown Statesville Art Crawl

The 2014 Downtown Statesville Spring Art Crawl is set for Friday, April 11 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm (rain or shine). The Art Crawl is a juried art exhibit that will showcase as many as 75 artists in 35 different galleries, shops and businesses  scattered throughout the heart of Downtown Statesville. It is self-guided and you can begin the Crawl at any location. Just look for the sidewalk markers indicating a participating business. A program guide directing attendees to all the locations and listing all participating artists will be available.

Statesville Civil War Living History Day on Saturday, April 12th,

The Vance House Museum of Statesville, NC will be hosting an all-day living history event in
Downtown Statesville on Saturday, April 12 that offers the public an opportunity to better understand the Civil War history of Iredell County and the Statesville community.

2014 Statesville Pumpkin Fest Vendor Applications Online

Statesville Pumpkin Fest vendor applications are now available for the festival planned for Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Downtown Statesville. Vendor deadline is October 3, 2014.

New Downtown Statesville Wine Walk Event Planned for March 21

Join us in Downtown Statesville on Friday, March 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. as we kick off another great event - our first Downtown Wine Walk. Explore fantastic downtown shops while tasting over 100 remarkable wines, sample amazing craft beer(s) and enjoy delectable tastings from participating downtown restaurants. Tickets for the Wine Walk are $25 if purchased in advance and $30 on the day of the event – if there are any still available as a limited number of tickets will be sold. Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza Happening at the Statesville Civic Center

Visitors to the Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza (QNAE) will find just the right supplies and inspiration to keep busy most of the winter. The QNAE dates are Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 from 9 am - 5 pm each day. The event will be held at the Statesville Civic Center, 300 South Center St., in Downtown Statesville, NC. Easily accessible from both I-40 and I-77, Statesville is the perfect small town in Piedmont NC for your “Day Out” adventure. You won’t have any big city traffic headaches here, just lots of vendors with booths full of fabric, yarn, buttons, vintage textiles, sewing machines, notions and much more for your shopping pleasure. New Year’s Eve Gala at the Statesville Civic Center

The City of Statesville has a lot to celebrate on New Year’s Eve and is inviting the whole community to the party. The annual New Year’s Eve Gala, sponsored by the City of Statesville’s Entertainment Series is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the Statesville Civic Center. The Catalina's, recently inducted into the Beach Music Hall of Fame, will perform. The cost is $25 per person and includes music, dancing, party favors, heavy hors d'oeuvres. There is a cash bar (beer and wine). The doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the civic center.

The spirit of the season will come alive on Friday, December 13 & 20 from 5:30-8:30 pm during the Downtown Statesville Holiday Shop & Strolls. As our downtown businesses stay open late for a fun evening of shopping, dining, music, horse-drawn carriage rides, and of course special visits from Santa!

2013 Downtown Statesville Christmas Ornament Is Now Available

The Downtown Statesville Development Corporation is announcing that the 2013 Christmas ornament depicting the corner building of the Miller Block has arrived. This building has been home to The Law Office of J. Pressly Mattox, P.C. and the Law Office of James B. Mallory III since 1994. The ornaments are available at the following locations: Westmoreland Antiques and Collectibles - 117 S. Center Street, GG’s (formerly Frame Gallery & Gifts) - 110 W. Broad Street and Sub Express - 126 W. Broad Street. We would especially like to thank Michael Joe Moore for generously donating the use of his original watercolor painting of the building again for this year’s ornament. He will be signing ornaments at GG’s Art Frames Gifts during the December 6th Downtown Statesville Holiday Shop & Stroll from 5:30-8:30 pm.

2013 Statesville Christmas Parade

The 2013 parade was cancelled due to weather concerns.
2013 Statesville Christmas Parade sponsored by the 30th Masonic district of North Carolina will be will be held on Sunday, December 08, 2013 at 3:00 pm. Lineup will start at 1:30 pm. The 4th annual Small Business Saturday® is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses on the busiest shopping weekend of the year. On November 30, 2013, pledge to shop small at your favorite Downtown Statesville stores & restaurants and help fuel our local economy. Small Business Saturday is a national initiative that marks a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. Statesville Pumpkin Fest Happening in Downtown Statesville Saturday, November 2

Join us in Downtown Statesville for the 11th Annual Statesville Pumpkin Fest when pedestrians take over the streets and downtown is filled with live music, arts and crafts, great food, shopping, children’s activities and much more. On Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 10 am - 5 pm, bring your family and your friends, or make new friends at this annual community event. Several stages will host music, demonstrations, and we’ll have great children’s entertainment. This opportunity only comes once a year! Do not miss it. Downtown restaurants and stores will also be open for festival goers to enjoy!

Sign Your Team Up Today for the Pumpkin Fest Cornhole Classic Tournament

The 5th Annual Statesville Pumpkin Fest Cornhole Classic Tournament will take place during the Statesville Pumpkin Fest on Saturday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Downtown Statesville. The entry fee is $50 per two-man team with participation limited to the first 32 teams. It is a double elimination tournament and cash prizes will be awarded to the top four teams. Rules and regulations will be posted at the tournament site which is located on West Broad Street within the boundaries of the festival. Warm-up starts at 11:30 am and tournament begins at 12:30 pm. Downtown Business District Hosts Trick or Treating on October 31

It’s that time of year again when all the little ghosts and goblins converge on our downtown businesses to receive their treats. Trick or Treating will take place in the Downtown Business District on Thursday, October 31, from 4 to 6 p.m. Participating businesses will give away candy to costumed kids aged 12 and younger. Please mark your calendars! As in years past, an orange pumpkin with the downtown logo will be displayed in the window of those businesses that are participating in this event.

Haunted Statesville Tours Accepting Reservations

Haunted Statesville is a walking ghost tour full of old stories and legends from Statesville’s past. Tours being inside the newly renovated City Hall and step beyond the beauty of Statesville’s historic downtown and discover its true haunted history--where tales of spirits, scary creatures, mysterious deaths and creepy alleys become real. Tours run October 18-19 and October 25-26 every half hour between 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Tickets are $10 per person. Reservations are required.
