17th Annual Crossroads Cycling Classic @ Downtown Statesville
Aug 4 @ 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

For the 17th year in a row, the streets of Downtown Statesville will come alive with the speed, color and crashes of the Crossroads Cycling Classic and this year, it just got even better! Statesville will now be the host of the entire 3-day Crossroads Classic Bike Race! With TWO criterium races on a 0.6 mile course in the heart of Downtown, and one longer road race through Iredell County, this event will be exciting and unique for racers and spectators alike!  This festival of speed is designed to attract the country’s top professional and amateur cyclists to Statesville, NC by hosting three days of exciting events in Downtown Statesville and Iredell County on August 4 through August 6.

Friday, August 4, the Statesville Criterium will begin at 6:00 pm and get faster as the sun starts to set with the feature Pro race highlighting the evening at 9:00 pm. In between the races, watch the 2017 Trike Races brought to you by D’Laney’s Sports Bar & Grill. These races will start at the square and end in front of D’Laney’s at 114 W. Broad Street. The trike races will run at 6:35 pm, 7:20 pm, 8:05 pm, and 8:55 pm. Inflatable rides for the kids will be provided at no charge on East Broad Street.

Saturday, August 5, the First Flight Criterium will begin at 3:00 pm and provide exciting entertainment throughout the day.  There will be activities for children, music, and so much more! Inflatable rides for the kids will be provided at no charge on East Broad Street.

Sunday, August 6, The CCA Road Race Champoinship will be held in North Iredell County beginning at 7:30 am until 1:30 pm. The races will begin at North Iredell High School.

We highly encourage spectators to come out for the day or night with the whole family, grab dinner in downtown, and check out the fast action of the World’s top cyclists. St. Patrick’s Tea at The Sharpe House: Honoring our Irish Heritage @ Historic Sharpe House

Join us Saturday March 16 as we celebrate St Patrick’s Day and enjoy some Irish fare. Delicacies from our kitchen and prepared by local high school students will be on the menu as well as freshly brewed black tea.
Sittings for tea will be at 12:00, 1:30, and 3:00.
Tickets are available on EventBrite.com and are $18 per adult; $9 children ages 7 to 12, with children ages 6 and younger free. Tickets must be purchased by Friday March 15 at 6:00 p.m.
There will also be a raffle for some treats and goodies that will be ready to take home with you from the tea! Tickets are $1 each, 6 tickets for $5.00 or 12 for $10. Cash or check for the raffle tickets only.
Proceeds to benefit the Silas Alexander Sharpe Foundation!

Art in Bloom- 26th Annual Fundraiser and Luncheon @ Statesville Civic Center

Iredell Museums is pleased to announce that our 26th Annual Art in Bloom fundraiser and luncheon benefiting Iredell Museums will be held on April 4th at the Statesville Civic Center! The Program and Luncheon will start at 10:00 AM. Johnson’s Greenhouses will have their pop-up shop. We will have Mattie’s Mimosa bar, a bake sale, silent auction and Keeper of the Culture Award presentation. This year’s Keeper of the Culture Award recipient is Henry Steele and our speaker is local author Marie Land Avery Mickey. Tickets are $40 and are available at iredellmuseums.org or at Iredell Museums. If you are interested in contributing a baked good for our bake sale, contact Samantha Moose at smoose@iredellmuseums.org or call (704)873-7347.
