On November 24th, we encourage residents and visitors to take part in Small Business Saturday by shopping at our local businesses in Downtown Statesville. With more than 50 unique shops, boutiques and restaurants throughout the downtown district, you are sure to find something for everyone on your list this year. Shoppers supporting local businesses can even receive Shop Small® giveaways. Make a purchase at any of the participating businesses and enter a drawing to win $100 in Downtown Statesville Dollars to be spent at participating businesses! Shopping small helps you support your friends, neighbors, other local businesses and the local economy. So spread the cheer and give the gift that keeps on giving by eating, shopping and living local in Downtown Statesville this holiday season.

Saturday, November 24
Sharpe House Annual Yuletide Tea
Seatings at 12 noon, 1:30 pm, 3 pm, and 4:30 pm, Historic Sharpe House
Please join the Historic Sharpe House as we kick off our Holiday Season in memory of Sarah Jane! Delicacies from The Historic Sharpe House kitchen and local high school culinary arts students will be served with freshly brewed Black loose leaf tea (apple juice for the children). Price for this tea is $20 per adult; $12 children ages 7 to 12. Children ages 6 and under are free. The baked goods raffle will feature seasonal items to be baked Christmas week! Tickets are on sale at Eventbrite.com! Choose your seating time—either 12 noon, 1:30 pm, 3 pm or 4:30 pm.  Proceeds to benefit the Silas Alexander Sharpe Foundation!

Jingle All the Way

Please join us for a holiday concert featuring the Mitchell Chorus & Mitchell Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Kelly Hutchinson and Tony Sanders. This event is open to the public. Admission is $5. Students of all ages are free.

Shop & Stroll Spectacular
5:30 to 9 pm, Downtown Statesville
Shop Downtown Statesville during the Holiday Shop & Stroll Spectacular on Friday, November 30 from 5:30-9:00 pm. Enjoy a fun evening of merchant open houses, stroll the sidewalks, listen to carolers, and enjoy the sparkle of holiday lights.  Make memories with the little ones as you enjoy fun activities happening throughout the night, including horse-drawn carriage rides and visit with Santa in the Historic City Hall’s “Santa Central.” Kids can make holiday crafts in Santa’s workshop and enjoy snacks and hot chocolate. Bundle up and soak in the magic of downtown during Holiday Shop & Stroll in Statesville!

Holidays with the Band

Please join us for an evening of festive music featuring inspiring arrangements of seasonal favorites performed by the Mitchell Community Band, under the direction of Joshua Stevenson. This event is open to the public. Admission is $5. Students of all ages are free.

A Christmas Carol Walking Tour
6:30 pm (Tours every half hour), Downtown Statesville
Tickets are on sale now for Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol that will be performed as a walking tour throughout Downtown Statesville. The production is described as a “progressive play.” This unique format will have scenes from the beloved story performed at various Downtown locations. Each tour group will be led by its own Narrator and will follow Scrooge through his night of reckoning with the three Spirits of Christmas. The shows will take place December 7, 8, 9 and 14,15,16 and will begin at 6:30 pm, with tours leaving every half hour. All shows begin at the Statesville City Hall at 227 S Center Street, Statesville, NC. Tickets are $15 plus tax and can be purchased online at www.statesvilletheatre.com. This show is sponsored by Iredell Health System.

Sunday, December 9
Christmas Parade
3pm, Downtown Statesville
The Statesville Christmas Parade is a holiday tradition that our community looks forward to year after year! Center Street in Downtown Statesville will be lined with men, women, and children dressed in their festive gear watching the lineup of floats, cars, horses, and more pass by. Children will be excited to fill their pockets with candy and catch a glimpse of Santa as the grand finale! The 2018 Statesville Christmas Parade, sponsored by the 30th Masonic District is Sunday, is December 9 at 3:00 pm. The parade route begins at Bell Street and heads North on Center Street, finishing at Statesville High School.

Thursday, December 13
Holiday Pops Concert with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra
6:30 pm – 9:30 pm, Statesville Civic Center
The City of Statesville and Opus Financial Advisors, Inc. are thrilled to welcome back The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra to the Statesville Civic Center for an evening of beautiful holiday music! The doors will open at 6:30pm and there will be a cash bar of beer and wine available. The concert will begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Statesville Civic Center.
