In a few months, Chip Johnson will be celebrating the 5th anniversary of his Downtown restaurant, Uncle C's BBQ. With the unique sauces and special family recipes, Uncle C's has made quite the name for itself among the residents, employees, and visitors in Downtown and surrounding areas.
Uncle C's started as a small, "take-out only" place on Buffalo Shoals Road. With the rise in its popularity, Chip saw an opportunity in the growing Downtown Statesville and decided to go for it. Since then, business has been booming with steady growth each year. They have plans to promote and grow their catering business, which already keeps them busy on the weekends.
As one of the most popular lunch spots around, you may find it difficult to find a seat during lunch hours Tuesday through Friday, but there is great outdoor seating available just outside the front door. The true essence of a family man, Chip opened his own business because wanted to have more freedom to spend time with his family, which is why there are limited hours on the weekends and evenings. However, they ARE open Thursday and Friday evenings for dinner!
Chip cooks his barbecue on-site daily, uses only fresh burgers, and offers homemade desserts from scratch. The Double Dipped Chicken and BBQ pork are his specialties, but the family recipes for hash brown casserole, mac 'n cheese, and Brunswick stew will leave you wanting more!
