Theatre Statesville and the Historic Sharpe House are excited to be joining forces to bring a new annual event to Downtown Statesville called "Shakespeare in the Pasture." Why a pasture, you ask? Because the area behind the Sharpe House used to serve as a pasture. This beautiful, natural area now serves as a perfect setting to bring the works of the world's most famous playwright to life!

Each June, this new collaboration will present a different Shakespeare play to the people of Statesville. One of the most loved Shakespearean plays will kick off the inaugural year-- A Midsummer Night's Dream. It is a comedy and love story, complete with magic, fairies, and mischief. The cast and crew have been working tirelessly on the set, costumes, lights, lines, and all the little details, so be sure to come on out and show your support!

The show opens this week with 8 pm performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and again next week on the same days. You can purchase your tickets here:

As an added bonus, The Historic Sharpe House is hosting "Dream Dinners" each night prior to the production of A Midsummer Night's Dream! This feast will begin with a Garden Salad and then a buffet of Prime Rib, Baked Chicken, Roasted Rosemary Red Potatoes, Green Beans, Corn, Yeast Rolls, and an abundance of homemade desserts. Iced tea, red or white wine, or sparkling grape juice will be available for beverages. This will all be served in the traditional Gilded Age Style that the Sharpe House is known for.

Dream Dinners will be held beginning at 6 pm on each evening of the performances. Enjoy dining al fresco around the newly lit Dogwood Tree, just yards from our theatre! After dessert, just stroll down to the meadow and take a seat and be entertained! Tickets for the Dream Dinners are sold separately at
